Homemade honey lemon liquor

This time I have a homemade honey and lemon liquor recipe for you. It’s 3 ingredients only and it’s amazing! That recipe belongs to my grandma who makes it when she knows guests are coming over. I mean what is more Eastern European than serving shots to your guests? I’ve been guilty of doing that to my guests too. It’s just the good old Eastern European hospitality 😉 My grandfather has his own beehives so their honey tastes so amazing! All you need is lemons, honey and spirytus. Spirytus is a 96% alcohol volume alcohol (yes, you read it right 96%), but don’t worry we’ll delude it with lemon juice, water and honey. It ends up being a bit stronger than vodka but sweet and delicious. It’ll warm you up real fast. Tastes a little like limoncello.

Labor day is coming! I’m so excited because we have a fun trip coming up. My husband, Chris, his sister Alexandra, and our friends Laura and Mike are heading to Memphis tonight. I’ve never been, just have driven through on my way to Florida, and I’m definitely super excited. Memphis sounds so fun! I’m so looking forward all the bbq food, rock’n’roll and just getting away for the long weekend. Wherever you guys might be spending this holiday a bottle of homemade liquor is a guaranteed success.

I used a funnel to transferred honey to the spirytus.

I squeezed juice from 4 lemons. I got a cup of lemon juice. Depending on the size of lemon you might need another one.

I transferred lemon juice and water to honey and spirytus.

I closed the bottle and shook it to mix everything. You technically could drink it right away but it’s best after 2+ days. And we’re done! Enjoy!

If you tried that recipe and posted a pic or a comment use hashtag #EasternEuropeanRecipes I’d love to see how it turned out!
